About
I'm Jean-Charles, a mastering engineer based in Paris.
Since 2020, I've worked on more than 3,500 tracks in electronic music, ranging from techno to hard techno, as well as trance, industrial techno, and hardcore. Coming from a background in DJing and production, I pay close attention to artistic intent, the energy of a track, and how it translates across listening systems, from clubs to streaming platforms.
I see mastering as a decisive final stage. Beyond the technical aspect, it's about bringing coherence, precision, and an external perspective that can elevate a track without altering its identity.
Every project comes with direct communication, honest feedback, and precise advice. I'm personally involved in each session, with the same level of standards from the first message to the final result.

Before anything else, you receive detailed notes on your mix: dynamics, balance, EQ. Completely free.
I master your track with precision, targeting club and streaming standards without losing punch or dynamics.
You receive your master files (WAV, MP3, vinyl version if needed) with 2 revisions included.
Technical Guidelines
01
Export as WAV or AIFF, 24-bit or 32-bit, at 44.1 kHz or higher. Normalize: Off. Dither: Off.
02
Keep your master bus below 0 dBTP. Aim for peaks around −6 dBTP. Do not use a limiter to fix clipping. Lower all tracks collectively instead.
03
Avoid over-compressing your mix. A well-controlled dynamic range gives the mastering more room to work, resulting in a punchier and more impactful sound.
04
Leave at least 100 ms of silence at the start and 2 seconds at the end. This preserves transients and reverb tails during mastering.
05
Remove all compressors, EQs, stereo wideners, and limiters from the master channel. A clean signal allows for the most effective and high-quality result.
06
Send a reference track if you have a specific sound in mind. It helps me understand your vision and tailor the process to your expectations.
01
Remove unwanted noise, clicks, and pops. Trim silence at the start and end of each track and apply fades to avoid abrupt transitions.
02
Name each track clearly: Vocals_Main, Kick_Drum, Guitar_Rhythm… Include BPM and key information if known.
03
All tracks must start at bar 1. Export as WAV or AIFF, 24-bit or 32-bit, at 44.1 kHz or higher. Dither: Off. Normalize: Off.
04
Remove all EQ, compression, reverb, and effects from each track. If an effect is essential (e.g. amp simulation), send both the wet and dry version. Keep peaks below −12 dB on the master.
05
Provide a reference track or your own self-mix. Include session notes with specific instructions or creative directions for the mix.
06
Name your folder Artist Name – Track Name, zip it, and upload it to WeTransfer, Dropbox, or Google Drive. Send the link to onl.contact.off@gmail.com.
